Fishergreen Allotments
This site is on the edge of the city – opposite the Racecourse - on Fishergreen Lane which runs from the Boroughbridge Road towards Fishergreen. Most plot holders use a vehicle when visiting the site and the Society has recently improved the parking facilities. The land is alluvial and very fertile. There are currently 105 plots on the site but as they become vacant larger plots [up to 592 sq metres] are being divided to provide even more. Some of the perimeter fencing was renewed in 2010.
The allotments site has flooded in the past – it is just below the confluence of the rivers Ure and Skell. It is hoped the works undertaken by the Environment Agency will end the problem or greatly reduce it.

Kirkby Road Allotments
A very popular “L” shaped site with two entrances on Kirkby Road. One of the entrances is opposite the cemetery and the other also serves as an entrance to the Grammar School. The site now has 78 plots but as they become vacant the larger plots are being divided to provide more family sized plots. The site has a metered water supply.

Bondgate Green Allotments
The site now has 40 plots but was much larger in years gone by before the Dallamires Lane industrial estate was constructed. Access is via Bondgate Green Lane and Dallamires Way North. The site sits between Newby Street and the rear of Ripon Farm Services. Much of the site overlies peat and is very fertile but some plots suffer from the high water table and can be difficult to garden in winter. .

Gallows Hill Allotments
A small site originally of 11 plots but some now have been divided. The land is stony but if cared for produces some very good crops. The site was re-fenced in 2008. The site is on Knaresborough road just off the by-pass.

Riverview Allotments
There are 20 plots on this site which is situated adjacent to the River Ure on River View Road. The soil is light and easily cultivated. There have been problems in the past when the Ure has burst it banks and in 2010 the Environment Agency undertook some engineering works on the edge of the site. The riverside fence which had become dilapidated was replaced at the beginning of 2014 improving security and safety.
The site rep is Andy Turnbull.
Quarrymoor Lane Allotments
This a very small triangular site which is surrounded by houses on Quarrymoor Lane, Aismunderby Road and Wakeman Road. The site is very sheltered and extremely well cultivated but unlike the other sites in Ripon it does not have the benefit of water troughs. There are only 6 plots on the site which rarely fall vacant.
